Don't touch this broken heart
It's too tender to bear,
Don't look in these lonely eyes,
You won't find nothing there.

Keep your dreams to yourself,
Save all your promises,
For somebody else.

I used to believe in love,
Fairytales and movie shows,
Happy endings sent from above,
But that's just not the way it goes.
I gave all I had to give,
To a love I thought was true,
He left me my life to live,
But nothing left to give to you.

Keep your dreams to yourself,
Save all your promises,
For somebody else.

I'll keep this corner to myself,
I like the lights down low,
I save my dreams up on the shelf,
I won't hear your vain hello.
